Maison Bonbon is a charming property in a quiet part of the island’s Medieval capital Hora; peaceful yet so close to the town’s amenities.
Recently renovated, with modern conveniences, it is constructed in archetypal Patmian style, with whitewashed walls, mantomata (exposed stone around the external doors and windows) and flat roof terrace. It accommodates four people and two children across two bedrooms.
The interiors are tastefully decorated with rough stone walls ‘washed’ in a palette of pale, fresh colours, blue painted windows and doors and splashes of patterned, brighter coloured soft furnishings. There is a living room, work area, and kitchen with all modern appliances. The two airy bedrooms are split across the ground and first floor, both with shuttered windows opening to extensive views, and ensuite bathrooms featuring designer showers. The master bedroom has direct access to the first floor veranda.
The veranda on the first floor has a covered al fresco dining area, seating six, from which views of the sea and islands of Mykonos, Naxos and Amorgos are framed by a large arch. There is also some seating on the uncovered part of this floor. The roof terrace is a wonderful space for relaxing, entertaining or enjoying the sunsets.
There is seating lining the edges and two tables that can be set up to entertain up to 12 people. From here there are views of the sanctuary of Profitis Elias and, over the island, to the Icarian sea.
